Tina Capito is running for Killeen Independent School Board of Trustees Place 6, standing for public education, representing every student, supporting educators and school staff, and providing resources for parents. She believes in the community's role in shaping the future of our youth.
 
Tina Capito, M.Ed., has been a dedicated public educator for over 25 years. She has been recognized for her outstanding community service, receiving awards such as the Helping Hands Volunteer of the Year for KISD and The Rusty Award for her work with CENTEX Special Needs and Disabled citizens. Tina is also a recipient of the Harker Heights Linda Neault Volunteer of the Year for her unwavering commitment to the community.
 
Tina is actively involved in various local boards, including Educated Angels and the City of Harker Heights Parks and Recreation. She is a key figure in the Garden of Hope Foster Care Agency, advocating for foster care for displaced youth. Tina has served diligently within Killeen ISD as both a teacher and a district-level employee.
 
Throughout her career, Tina has held positions in elementary and middle school general education, as well as various roles in special education, including inclusion, resource, self-contained PBS/Behavior, and home-bound services for medically fragile Killeen students. Tina is certified in these areas by the state of Texas and was the first KISD Transition Specialist for Special Education.
